There are moments that define our path as creators and developers. The Arquivo.pt Award 2025 was one of those for me.

With Memor.pt I turned a simple and personal idea, making Portugal’s digital past accessible in an interactive way, into a project that blends artificial intelligence, history and digital culture. The platform allows users to explore thousands of archived web pages, chat with an AI about topics such as democracy, housing or culture, play interactive quizzes and read a daily article based on real content preserved by Arquivo.pt.

After months of development and preparation, I presented the project to the Arquivo.pt jury. The feedback was incredibly positive and shortly after I received the news that Memor.pt had won 2nd place nationally, with a prize of €3,000.

The award ceremony took place at Encontro Ciência 2025, where I had the privilege of receiving the prize in the presence of the Minister of Education, Science and Innovation and representatives from FCT and FCCN. It was a moment of great personal pride.

Memor.pt was created to show that technology can give new life to our digital history. That archived data are not just records of the past but bridges to knowledge and education for the future.
